In the Midst of My Daily Drama

Like Jonah, I allow life to swallow me up.  I say to myself, “I can’t pray more, or give more, or fast more.”  “I’m too old.”  “I’m too busy.”  I’m in pain.”  Or, I tell myself, “I’m not going to help that person.”  “I don’t know him.”  “I do not like her.”  “That person deserves it.”

Like Jonah, God still waits for me in the midst of my daily drama.  If I ever learn my lesson, and, if I ever stop running, again God will speak up and say to me, “Go, and act like my disciple!”
