In his homily at mass at the tomb of Blessed Pope John Paul II today, Pope Francis says some important things.
On one hand we have the faith of St. Paul: nothing separates us from the love of God in Christ Jesus. And on the other hand we have the unfaithfulness of the people of Jerusalem in the time of Christ: they kill the prophets and stone God’s messengers.
These are metaphors for us today. We either possess confidence in God’s love even when challenged or we wear masks pretending to love God only when convenient.
God allows us the choice.
